CaixaBank grants €23 billion in 2022 to boost the international growth of Spanish companies, 28% more than in the previous year

CaixaBank has consolidated its stance as a leading bank for businesses thanks to its specialisation model.

• This credit volume has been earmarked to fund the international activity of small, medium and large enterprises.

• The bank leads in the number of import credits issued in Spain with a market share of 27.4%, as well as in the volume of guarantees issued and received, with a share in excess of 30%.

• CaixaBank offers specialised products and services through its specialised Foreign Trade department, in order to help companies manage their imports and exports, as well as customised financing options and a broad range of innovative solutions for their international growth.

 

CaixaBank issued a total of €23 billion in 2022 in an effort to boost the internationalisation of Spanish companies. This volume of new financing, intended for small, medium and large enterprises, was chiefly used to fund imports and exports, in addition to projects linked to the international activity of Spanish companies. The figure was 28% higher than in the previous year.

This credit volume highlights the confidence that the business sector has in CaixaBank as a benchmark institution in foreign trade. The financial institution leads the way in granting import loans in Spain with a market share of 27.4%, in addition to in the volume of guarantees issued and received, with a share of above 30%. These figures reaffirm CaixaBank's commitment to providing support to companies in their international growth process, providing them with its experience and knowledge of the markets in order to facilitate their business abroad.

CaixaBank offers advice on business international growth through its specialised Foreign Trade department, which offers a broad network of more than 100 specialists to meet the specific needs of companies in this field. The bank offers specialised products and services to help companies manage their imports and exports, in addition to customised financing options and a broad range of innovative solutions to enable them to manage their international activity entirely online. Against this backdrop, last year launched an early collection service for exports through CaixaBankNow, which lets customers get financing online quickly and securely.

Participation in the 21st edition of IMEX-Madrid

In an effort to boost the international growthof Spanish companies, CaixaBank is also present at the 21st edition of 'IMEX-Madrid Internationalisation Week 2023’ this week, the largest international business gathering held in Spain. This fair, with representatives from more than 60 countries, boasts an effective and innovative line-up of the products and services that are needed to boost the ginternational growth of companies.

During the fair, CaixaBank, the only financial entity taking part in this event, is offering lectures and roundtables, alongside experts from the sector to analyse the outlook and opportunities for international business. It also has its own stand at the fair, where the bank's Foreign Trade specialists are offering guidance in this area.

CaixaBank's international presence

CaixaBank channels its international presence through its International Banking network of branches and representative offices worldwide and through cooperation agreements with first-rate international banks. The financial institution also owns Portugal's Banco BPI, the fourth largest financial institution operating in Portugal in terms of assets. 

The international network of CaixaBank offers support to the bank's corporate customers that operate abroad, as well as to local corporations, through worldwide coverage with more than 200 professionals, nearly 30 international offices and agreements with more than 1,660 correspondent banks. This network provides coverage in 72 countries, which account for 82% of global GDP and 94% of Spain's international trade.

CaixaBank's International Banking network is the only AENOR-certified international banking network in Spain.
