Corporate responsibility

Social Action

Social Action, one of the pillars of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Plan, has driven corporate volunteering since 2005 via its Volunteering Programme. Its Association is made up of employees in active service from CaixaBank, “la Caixa” Foundation and companies of the CaixaBank Group, retired employees and individuals who took early retirement from these organisations, as well as friends, relatives and customers.

In 2020, the initiative marked its fifteenth anniversary of solidarity work. In total, in the last year, around 5,800 committed people have been part of la Caixa's active volunteering, participating in more than 7,000 solidarity activities. Twice a year, CaixaBank also organises Social Week, in which tens of thousands of volunteers among its employees and customers are mobilised. Thanks to all of them, it has contributed to helping more than 350,000 vulnerable people throughout the country with regard to financial education, job market integration, health and child poverty, among others.

  • Nearly 6,000 volunteers committed during the year.
  •  Nearly 17,000 volunteers in the two Social Weeks.
  • 14,400 solidarity activities in total.
  • 350,000 beneficiaries.
