CaixaBank CEO Gonzalo Gortázar and Sofía Osborne, winner of the 2025 CaixaBank ‘Businesswoman Award’.
Sofía Osborne, chairwoman of the Osborne Group, has been chosen as the national winner of the ninth edition of the 2025 'CaixaBank Businesswoman Award', which recognises the talent and professional excellence of women entrepreneurs who are a benchmark for the whole of Spanish society for their business careers, strategic vision, leadership capacity and social commitment.
The jury for these awards, made up of CaixaBank executives, chose Sofía Osborne from among the winners in the regional phase of the competition for her business experience, which has allowed her to lead the company's strategy of internationalisation, sustainability and modernisation.
Sofía Osborne has led the management of the Osborne Group since two years ago, when she became the first female chairwoman in the history of the group, established in 1772.
In its decision, the jury has also taken into account the development that the company has carried out of premium products, the modernisation of traditional brands, and the strategic acquisitions to diversify the company’s portfolio, which has become an international referent of the Spanish gastronomy thanks to well-known brands such as Cinco Jotas, Sánchez Romero Carvajal, Vinos de Jerez Osborne, Anís del Mono, Veterano or Nordés, among many others.
In parallel, as established in the award terms and conditions, the jury has considered that Sofía Osborne has an ownership percentage of the company – she maintains 10% - and is committed to social progress. In this sense, the group channels its corporate social responsibility via the Fundación Osborne, focused on training of young people in order to promote their employability, entrepreneurship and innovation.
Prior to this recognition, Osborne's talent earned her other distinctions, such as the 'XXXIII Fedepe Award for Female Leadership in 2023; and her appointment as chairwoman of the Spanish Foro de Marcas Renombradas Españolas.
The CEO of CaixaBank, Gonzalo Gortázar, handed the award to Sofía Osborne at an event held at the 'all in one' branch in Madrid, attended by the finalists-winners in the regional phase, as well as winners from previous years.
"I am really proud of this recognition because it is an acknowledgement of the entire Osborne family, the 360 shareholders of the company and all the great human team behind it", said the chairwoman of the Osborne Group, Sofía Osborne. "Female leadership brings a different vision of what businesses are, closeness to the human team, and empathy", she highlighted.

CaixaBank’s CEO underlined that "the CaixaBank 'Businesswoman Award' recognises, once again, the careers and talent of businesswomen, as well as the key role they play in the business sector". "Not only the national winner, Sofía Osborne, but also the regional phase winners, can boast of having strategic business vision and leadership skills that radiate enthusiasm, allowing them to get the best of their teams", has pointed out Gortázar.
The event was also attended by the regional winners who were shortlisted for the national 'CaixaBank Businesswoman 2025’ award: Carolina Quetglas Vera (BQ Hoteles), Eulalia Alomar Serrallach (CreuBlanca Group), Dafra Suárez Pulido (MultiÓpticas), Inés Sánchez de la Morena Ruiz (Casa Kiriko), Bibiana Nicolás-Correa Vilches (Nicolás Correa), Míriam Pujol Giralt (Calaf Group), María José Félix Lave (Helados Estiu Group), Elena Ceca Antón (Tonelería Murua), Ana Cristina Poza Fernández (LPS Group), María Sánchez García (La Pastora) and Silvia Díaz Queipo (Language Kingdom).
