At its meeting held today, CaixaBank’s Board of Directors approved the appointment of Jordi Soldevila as Head of Communications and Institutional Relations of the financial institution, as well as his incorporation into the management committee, replacing Mª Luisa Martínez Gistau. The effectiveness of this incorporation is pending suitability verification by the European Central Bank.
Jordi Soldevila stated that he ‘takes on this new challenge with the commitment to continue driving the development of the activity and contributing to the company’s growth, while ensuring continuity with the work carried out in recent years.’ He also underscored the strategic importance of Communications and Institutional Relations as key levers for the institution’s positioning and reputation.
To date, Mª Luisa Martínez has held this position for 25 years, including 10 years as a member of the institution’s management committee. Martínez Gistau commented that she ‘approaches this new stage with enthusiasm, bringing a professional cycle at the institution to a close.’ She also noted that during all these years at CaixaBank she has acquired extensive experience that will enable her to take on new professional challenges in other sectors. Mª Luisa Martínez Gistau will remain linked to CaixaBank’s Communications and Institutional Relations area over the coming months in order to facilitate an orderly transition to Jordi Soldevila’s new responsibilities.

Jordi Soldevila's career path
Jordi Soldevila is CEO of BuildingCenter and Head of Real Estate for CaixaBank’s Foreclosed Assets. He holds a degree in Business Administration and Management from IQS and has executive training from IESE. He has developed his entire professional career within the CaixaBank Group, providing him with a deep knowledge of the organisation, its business and the financial and real estate sectors. Throughout his career, he has held different responsibilities in the fields of corporate development and real estate business, participating in key transformation and growth processes of the institution. He is also a member of various boards of directors in the sector.
Borja Kaiser, new CEO of BuildingCenter
Borja Kaiser, until now General Manager of BuildingCenter, has been appointed director of the company, and his appointment as CEO is expected shortly by the Board of Directors of BuildingCenter. With a solid track record in the real estate and asset management fields, he will assume leadership in this new stage, succeeding Jordi Soldevila in the role.
