CaixaBank Wealth Management branch
CaixaBank Wealth Management branch
CaixaBank's Management Committee has approved a new organisational structure for Wealth Management and CaixaBank Asset Management, two strategic businesses for the Group that play a key role in advisory and asset management of private banking, wealth and institutional clients.
As part of this new structure, Juan Llamas has been appointed Head of CaixaBank Wealth Management, succeeding Belén Martín, who is taking on new responsibilities at CaixaBank CIB as Managing Director of the Representative Offices within the international area. Llamas will report directly to Jordi Mondéjar, CaixaBank's Head of Retail, Private and Business Banking.
Juan Llamas has 30 years of experience in private banking and wealth management, almost 20 of them in CaixaBank. He holds a degree in Economics, an MBA from IE Business School, a PADE from IESE Business School and a Master's Degree in Financial Markets from CEU San Pablo University.
After beginning his career at AB Asesores and Morgan Stanley, he joined CaixaBank, where he has developed a significant part of his professional career. He has held a number of senior management positions, most notably serving as Managing Director of Barclays Wealth during the Barclays integration process, as well as various commercial management positions in private and premier banking. Until now, he was Head of the Business unit at CaixaBank Wealth Management.
With his appointment, CaixaBank reinforces its commitment to internal talent and to professionals with extensive expertise in private banking, wealth advisory services and high-net-worth client management.
CaixaBank Asset Management, to report directly to the Head of Retail, Private and Business Banking
Under the new structure, CaixaBank Asset Management, previously integrated within the Wealth Management division, will report directly to Jordi Mondéjar, CaixaBank's Head of Retail, Private and Business Banking, who will also join CaixaBank Asset Manager's Board of Directors as Vicepresident. This move reinforces the asset manager’s strategic and cross-functional role within the Group.
Through this new organisation, CaixaBank aims to further develop a more integrated wealth proposition, strengthening the growth of the Group businesses’ wealth management and leveraging the investment and asset management capabilities of CaixaBank Asset Management.
These changes are completed by the appointment of Laura Comas, Head of Wealth Value Proposition, as a Director of CaixaBank Wealth Management Luxembourg, replacing Belén Martín; as well as the appointment of Juan Llamas as a Joint Director of Real Estate Wealth and Director of OpenWealth.
Meanwhile, Belén Martín has been appointed Managing Director of CaixaBank's Representative Offices. She will bring her managerial capabilities and her corporate banking experience to the coordination of the bank’s international network of representative offices, comprising 18 centres distributed in 16 countries. This network is part of the area led by Iñaki Badiola, Director of Corporate & Investment Banking.
Sustained growth in assets under management and customers
The reorganisation of CaixaBank Wealth Management takes place at a time of business growth and sector transformation, marked by the emergence of new technologies, the entry of new market players and a growing demand for increasingly sophisticated wealth solutions and comprehensive financial planning.
In April, CaixaBank Wealth Management exceeded €200 billion in assets under management, including individual customers holding more than €500,000 in the bank. This figure represents growth of 7.7% compared with year-end 2025. The increase came with growth of the base of clients, which reached 193,000 clients, 19,000 more than in December 2025, representing an 11% increase.
