  • Via this office CaixaBank will be able to provide specialized consultancy and solutions to the more than 400 Spanish firms operating in the country.
  • CaixaBank is the leading provider of foreign trade consultancy services to Spanish companies, offering support in all stages of international growth and investment via its network of overseas branches.
  • The bank was selected as the Best Partner for International Trade Finance by Lafferty Group based on its foreign trade strategy

CaixaBank, the leader in Spanish banking by market share, has launched a representative office in Sao Paulo (Brazil), where it will provide specialised consultancy and financial solutions to Spanish firms with interests in Brazil.

The office has been operational since mid-April, and will allow CaixaBank to work closely alongside its clients, whether they are just getting an initial foothold in the country or are already well established. The bank, presided over by Chairman Jordi Gual and CEO Gonzalo Gortazar, is the market leader in foreign trade consultancy services for Spanish companies, offering financial solutions for export and import operations, as well as a network of overseas branches to ensure that clients benefit from full support in all stages of their international projects.

In May CaixaBank was honoured by Lafferty Group for its international strategy, winning the title of Best Partner for International Trade Finance. The accolade recognises CaixaBank's leadership in banking for small and medium enterprises, as well as its ability to forge lasting relations with clients, and the development of an international network aimed at supporting clients as they grow. Lafferty Group specialises in research and studies in the retail banking sector.

Energy and infrastructure

More than 400 Spanish businesses have permanent interests in Brazil, a significant percentage of which operate in energy and infrastructure, as well as ancillary industries and services linked to the same.

Brazil, with a population of over 205 million, 60% of whom are under the age of 55, is the fifth largest country in the world by land area and the seventh largest economy by GDP.

CaixaBank already operated in the Americas via three offices: in New York (USA), Bogota (Colombia) and Santiago de Chile (Chile).

Outside of the Americas, the bank has representative branches in Paris (France), Milan (Italy), Frankfurt (Germany), Cairo (Egypt), Johannesburg (South Africa), Istanbul (Turkey), Beijing and Shanghai (China), Dubai (United Arab Emirates), New Delhi (India) and Singapore. A new representative branch is also due to be opened in Algeria. Furthermore, CaixaBank has proprietary branches in London (United Kingdom), Warsaw (Poland) and two branches in Morocco (Casablanca and Tangier), while it holds agreements with more than 2,500 international banks to help support firms and individuals in their international and foreign trade operations anywhere in the world.
