The initiative includes eight security tips to avoid becoming a victim of fraud, starring Tricicle, who will facilitate transmitting the messages thanks to their ability to communicate effectively through humour.
The eight tips from CaixaBank and Tricicle
'It can happen to anyone' highlights eight basic tips to avoid falling victim to the most common scams today. One of them emphasises the importance of being aware of the fraudulent tactics used by cybercriminals posing as managers of financial institutions. CaixaBank and Tricicle advise the public to refrain from rash or unverified actions and to contact the bank directly through its official channels to verify any doubts or suspicions.
he growth of online commerce has brought with it risks that require additional caution. It is therefore advisable to thoroughly check the merchant, the amount and the opinions of other users before finalising online purchases. If something looks suspicious during the purchase process, it is best to cancel the transaction immediately. On the internet, you should always be suspicious of offers that seem too good to be true, as they may be scams.
Password protection is also crucial in the digital environment. CaixaBank and the humorous trio recommend using strong passwords, not sharing them and storing them in a password manager to guarantee their integrity. The recommendation also covers the use of public Wi-Fi networks; as these can be compromised, it is recommended to prioritise the use of mobile data and to avoid entering personal or financial information on free connections.
If your mobile phone is lost or stolen, you are recommended to act quickly and contact customer services. It is essential to activate screen lock and authentication for mobile payments to limit access to sensitive information. Cybercriminals can even impersonate family members by using fake video or audio. Therefore, if someone you know asks for money, it is always advisable to verify their authenticity by contacting them directly.
CaixaBank stresses the use of common sense as a key tool in dealing with possible fraud. To avoid fraud, it is essential to remain calm and to verify any suspicious situations through official contacts. This set of recommendations reaffirms the bank's commitment to protecting and educating citizens against today's digital threats.
The return of Tricicle to participate in this campaign not only marks a long-awaited reunion, but also reinforces the message of raising awareness and sensitisation to today's digital security challenges. With this project, CaixaBank reaffirms its commitment to the security of its customers and society as a whole by promoting secure practices in the technological environment.
