CaixaBank has made a special donation of €249,504 to a Save the Children project focused on supporting families and promoting child wellbeing in areas affected by the flash flooding, thanks to the participation of a total of 83,168 shareholders at the Annual General Meeting held in Valencia on 27 March.
More precisely, the bank has donated €3 for each shareholder who took part, whether by voting or granting a proxy at the AGM through the various channels made available.
The Save the Children project is structured around two priority lines of action. First, support for families: the organisation works alongside those still struggling to cope with the effects of the crisis, helping them stabilise their employment and socio-economic situation. These actions aim to support their financial stability, promote their autonomy and help them recover their lost income and quality of life.
Second, in relation to child wellbeing, the project ensures that children’s basic needs are met, focusing on their physical and psychosocial wellbeing. It includes educational support, access to essential materials, safe spaces, emotional support and programmes designed to protect the overall development of children affected by the disaster.
The partnership with Save the Children will help to alleviate the enduring effects of the flooding on thousands of families, particularly those with dependent children, by improving their wellbeing and supporting them as they rebuild their lives in the face of such adversity.
This initiative is a further show of CaixaBank’s firm support for charitable actions that deliver a tangible impact, in line with its commitment to remain close to people and to support communities in situations of vulnerability.
