imagin launches the sixth edition of the imaginPlanet Challenge, a programme for sustainability-focused entrepreneurship
imagin, the neobank driven by CaixaBank, is launching the sixth edition of the imaginPlanet Challenge, aimed at young students aged 16 and above from universities and vocational training centres interested in developing entrepreneurial ideas that help combat climate change.
Those interested in taking part must register in teams of three people via the programme's website until 31 May. Sessions will be held throughout the registration period to promote the initiative among students at universities across Spain, such as UEM, UCM, UNAV and UPV, as well as among vocational training students, by means of sessions carried out in collaboration with CaixaBank Dualiza, the bank's Foundation driving this type of training and engaged in Dual Training.
As participants register for the programme, they will receive training; imagin offers online sessions and short training modules on sustainability and entrepreneurship, as well as access to tools and resources that can help them shape their ideas using the Lombard method, rooted in Design Doing.
Once the deadline for submitting applications has closed, a jury made up of internal and external experts in sustainability will select the 10 finalist projects. The winning team will be chosen from among them and will be able to enjoy a visit to Silicon Valley, specifically, to the Imagine Creativity Center, directed by the entrepreneur Xavier Verdaguer. Members of the winning team will participate in a 10-day incubation programme for their project; will visit companies such as Netflix, Google HQ, Instagram, HP, IDEO and more; and will receive training from the universities of Stanford and Berkeley.
More than 10,000 participants in the past five editions
More than 10,000 young people have already participated in the imaginPlanet Challenge, which is now in its sixth edition. Since the initiative has been launched, multiple projects have evolved from an idea to an active company.
Ecodeliver, winners of the first edition, are today a sustainable mobility company with third-party investment and consolidated clients that continues to grow by hiring new talent.
The winners of the second edition, Atom H2, have developed hydrogen batteries; are today a consolidated company with investors, a product on the market and major clients in the telecommunications sector; and are in full international expansion.
In the fifth edition, MYCO stood out for its mycelium-based construction panels. The project and its team are currently in the incubation stage, having entered strategic agreements with major construction companies to manufacture the finished product while achieving very significant progress in research and development.
Agro4Data, finalist in the fourth edition, is also excelling by offering prediction services for the agro-food sector. The company is already set up and has relevant clients generating revenue, which is driving the team's and project's growth.
Lastly, VAIB, finalist in the first edition, has created a solution to promote local businesses. With a solid team and a product developed and launched on the market, the company is in full swing, consolidating its presence and impact on the local economy.
With the aim of continuing to support the growth of the projects that have taken part in the imaginPlanet Challenge, imagin has an alumni community so that all participating teams can stay involved in the programme. This community allows imagin to continue supporting the development of the projects, promote participants' future careers and foster interaction between all players involved in the imaginPlanet Challenge.
