CaixaBank, the leading bank in Spain by market share, has opened a representative branch in Johannesburg (South Africa), from which it will provide specialised consultancy services and financial solutions to Spanish companies with interests in the southern Africa region.. CaixaBank is the first Spanish bank to establish itself in the country.
The new Johannesburg representative branch, which has been operational since the start of the year, means CaixaBank will be able to help clients establish business operations in South Africa and neighbouring countries. The bank, under the direction of Chairman Isidro Fainé and CEO Gonzalo Gortázar, has thus consolidated its position as the foremost Spanish financial institution in Africa for Spanish firms.
