CaixaBank has obtained the international BS 25999 certification for its business continuity management system. The entity has established a continuous improvement system in processes and procedures to ensure the continuity of CaixaBank's operations in any eventuality.
This certification recognises "la Caixa"'s commitment to best practices in business continuity management and its cyclical process model based on continuous improvements. The certificate has been issued by the British Standards Institution (BSI) and is accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), which supervises the service quality of the certifying body.
The BS 25999 certification for business continuity management systems applies to several of CaixaBank's Central Services, such as General Services, Banking Services, IT Services, Organisation and Quality, Human Resources, Treasury, Market Risk Management, Cards and Security.
The certificate means the entity can give confidence to its customers, employees, regulators and society in general that CaixaBank is capable of responding to any event that might affect business operations.
Business continuity is an essential process for large companies, which establishes the procedures that a company will follow to ensure the continuity of critical business functions during and after a contingency.
Furthermore, CaixaBank satisfies the requirement of flexibly adjusting to a changing environment, having adopted certification programs based on international standards that ensure regulatory compliance and quality assurance in security management.
