  • All of those who have adhered to the relocation plan who are actively seeking a job will have support for as long as they need it, and they will be able to obtain further support if the new job does not meet their expectations.
  • The bank is driving the plan in collaboration with LHH (Adecco Group), a specialist in occupational transition projects and talent development.
  • The plan includes a broad range of options to help individuals craft a new career plan, ranging from from coaching and reskilling sessions, support in business development, a senior talent program and collaboration with international head-hunters.
  • CaixaBank will partner with strategic consulting firm McKinsey and sector entities to drive a thorough analysis of the labour market and identify new local job opportunities in the short and medium term.

CaixaBank has today presented to the Workers' Labour Representation (RLT) the relocation plan designed to help find stable and quality employment for all those affected by the bank’s restructuring process.

It features a comprehensive set of measures seeking to relocate every employee, who leaves the bank and wants to actively join the plan, in a new, stable job and suited to their professional profile. In order to achieve the goal of relocating all those affected, the bank has engaged LHH (Adecco Group), a company specialising in occupational transition projects and talent development, boasting broad experience in restructuring processes in the banking sector, where it has achieved very high rates of relocation.

Furthermore, in order to gain a better understanding of the activity sectors with the greatest potential to create short- and medium-term employment throughout Spain, CaixaBank will partner with international strategic benchmark consultancy firm McKinsey in conducting an in-depth study of the labour market at the provincial level. By leveraging McKinsey Global Institute (MGI) tools, this study will focus on all regions where restructuring will have a major impact.

McKinsey, in partnership with various sector entities, will assess, in detail, the economic outlook by territory and identify the sectors with the highest expectations for evolution and the professional profiles needed to meet emerging new companies’ demand for talent at the local level. CaixaBank, which has a presence in 2,200 municipalities throughout Spain, is one of the country's financial institutions with the most far-reaching networks.

On the basis of this work, CaixaBank's relocation plan may include a comprehensive guidance and training system for its professionals suited to the new needs of the labour market.

Tailored advice and accompaniment and with no time limit

CaixaBank's proposal to advise and support all its affected employees throughout the process is a factor that sets the relocation plan apart. Those who take up the proposal will have all the support they require not only to identify job openings suited to their profile and to address the selection processes, but to craft a fully personalised future work path and redefine their own career plan in an in-depth and detailed manner.

This proposal ranges from an unlimited advice plan to coaching sessions and an extensive offering of training, with access to upwards of 16,000 courses on the LHH international platform to acquire new competencies and for reskilling; where necessary, toward profiles covering new labour demands. The training plan may be supplemented by other types of courses where recommended to support the specific work project the employee wishes to undertake. Programme members will also receive support and advice to strengthen their personal brand and visibility on social media and forums relevant to their speciality.

The plan not only addresses employee relocation but consolidating the employee into their new job and developing their career. Candidates will have the indefinite support of this plan until they are settled in their new position.

Additionally, they will be eligible for the plan again in the event that they accept a job offer and upon starting their new job they consider that it does not meet their professional expectations.

A broad plan of action to respond to all situations

In order to be able to channel the various concerns and interests of the affected collective and help them build a fully tailored future work project, the relocation plan offers a range of innovative approaches to advice, with an important section dedicated to crafting entrepreneurial projects and partnering with start-ups, many of them demanding specialist finance profiles and customer orientation.

Moreover, for those who are considering focusing their career internationally, the plan features job searches in several countries, thanks to LHH's collaboration with an international network of head-hunters and networking groups. There is also a special programme for those who are weighing up the possibility of joining other companies as independent directors.

CaixaBank has also implemented a special package of measures to serve the over-50s group, a cohort which usually finds it more difficult to remain in the labour market.

Affected employees can also select to transfer the support plan to a first-degree relative (children or partner) who is unemployed or wants to improve their career.
