• PWM, the Financial Times Group publication specialised in private banking, has recognised CaixaBank Banca Privada for its innovation in digital communication to its customers.

• CaixaBank Banca Privada has more than 60,000 customers and nearly €65 billion in assets under management.

• This award comes in addition to those of Best Bank in Spain 2019 and Most Innovative Bank in Western Europe in 2019 by US magazine Global Finance; and Bank of the Year 2018, by the British magazine The Banker.

CaixaBank has been named “Best Private Bank for digital client communication - Globally” by the specialised publication Professional Wealth Management (PWM), part of the Financial Times Group.

The PWM Wealth Tech Awards, in their second annual edition in 2019, recognise private banks that stand out for the excellence of their digital transformation strategy and for their ongoing innovation. The jury analysed the products and services of more than 50 private banking companies to highlight the innovations that most contribute to promoting change in the sector.

In this edition, PWM has also acknowledged the private banking business of BPI, part of the CaixaBank Group, as the Best Private Bank for digitally empowering relationship managers - Europe.

The magazine's jury considered, among other aspects, CaixaBank Banca Privada's latest services and products, such as Ocean, the first investment fund platform for third-party managers that customises the conditions per customer according to their service model. CaixaBank Banca Privada customers can choose from 2,000 funds from more than 140 managers via the digital platform (website or mobile application).

Gonzalo Gortázar, CaixaBank's chief executive officer, expressed gratitude for the award and stated that “The CaixaBank Strategic Plan puts technology and digital transformation at the service of our customers and employees. In the case of Private Banking, we are committed to combining the best people and the most cutting-edge technologies, with the aim of offering the best customer experience at all times and through any channel”.

In recent months, CaixaBank has continued strengthening its private banking business, intended for customers with more than €500,000 in assets. At year-end 2018, CaixaBank Banca Privada had 60,023 customers, representing 2.6% growth; and €64.9 billion in assets under management (2.7% more than in 2017).

The award ceremony for PWM's Wealth Tech Awards 2019 was held yesterday, 27 June, in the City of London. Professional Wealth Management (PWM) is a British publication from the Financial Times Group with headquarters in London, founded in 2001 and specialising in the analysis of the growth strategies of European international private banking and of the financial centres in which they operate.
