CaixaBank has improved its standing on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, consolidating its position among the world's most responsible banks

• The bank scored 88 points, placing it among the world's best banks in terms of corporate responsibility, and exceeding its score in the previous reading by five points.

• CaixaBank secured the top score (100) in areas including financial stability, information security, anti-money laundering policies and climate change strategy.

CaixaBank secured a score of 88 points on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), the world's foremost global sustainability index for companies. This is five points higher than the score allocated to CaixaBank in the last review, placing it among the world's best banks and improving its assessment in all three of the evaluated areas: economic, social and environmental.

Thus, the bank, presided over by Chairman Jordi Gual and CEO Gonzalo Gortázar, has consolidated its position among the world's most sustainable banks in terms of corporate responsibility. In 2016 DJSI analysts included a total of 27 banks in the global index, 12 of which are European.

Analysts from the DJSI allocated CaixaBank top scores (100) in areas including financial stability and systematic risk, information security, anti-money laundering policies and climate change strategy. Other areas that were highly rated by analysts included risk management, contribution to society and philanthropy and environmental management.
