CaixaBank secured a score of 83 points on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), the world's foremost global sustainability index for companies.This is one point more than the bank managed on the index last year and five points more than required to be included in the global DJSI.
The bank, under the direction of Chairman Isidro Fainé and CEO Gonzalo Gortázar, thus managed to strengthen its position among the world's leading banks in terms of corporate responsibility.DJSI analysts included 27 banks in the 2015 global index, 12 of which are European.
By criteria areas, CaixaBank earned the highest possible score (100 points out of 100) in financial stability and the prevention of money laundering.The bank was also among the leaders in brand management, code of ethics and internal code of conduct, risk management, environmental policy and action to promote financial inclusion, scoring over 90 points in each.

The DJSI is a global index that evaluates good practices at companies based on social, environmental and corporate governance criteria. It then selects firms that lead their industries in terms of sustainable growth strategies.
Launched in 1999, the DJSI is one of the foremost indexes for investors who factor in sustainability criteria when building and managing investment portfolios.Some 3,400 companies from around the globe were invited to take part in the evaluation, of which just 317 were included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index.
