"The Circle" in Poland

• "The Circle" is dedicated to economic debates to comment on current economic topics and exchange experiences in the business environment at the highest levels.

• Opening meeting was dedicated to diversity as a key aspect of business management, focused specifically on the position of women in top positions in international companies and institutions in Poland.

CaixaBank, the leading financial group in the Iberian market, has hosted the first “The Circle” meeting in a new, specially created space for networking, while also supporting Poland’s business community.

On the one hand, we want to participate in the local debate and support the local business. On the other hand, we want to strengthen the economic Polish-Spanish relations - says Juan Jose Marin Gimenez, Director of CaixaBank in Poland. This will be possible thanks to the new special networking space "The Circle".

CaixaBank fosters "The Circle" initiative in number of countries to comment on current economic topics and exchange experiences in the business environment at the highest levels. The initiative in Poland aims to promote analysis of economic prospects and to provide impetus for the country’s business community.

CaixaBank will organise different debates over this year at the new “The Circle” facilities in Warsaw. Topics and guests will change every edition, but the general purpose will remain linked to promoting business and networking for professionals in Poland.

The first “The Circle”, with female business leaders in Poland

The first “The Circle” meeting at the new space was designed was focused specifically on female business leaders in Poland.

The open debate was attended by: Grażyna Piotrowska-Oliwa, CEO of Virgin Mobile, Aleksandra Gren, Managing Director of Fiserv, Beata Pawłowska, CEO of Oriflame Poland, Ewa Łabno-Falęcka, Director of Communication & External Affairs, Mercedes-Benz Polska. Representing Poland CaixaBank has been Maria Victoria Matia, CaixaBank International Banking Director; Juan Jose Marin Gimenez, Director of CaixaBank in Poland, and Joanna Matras, Deputy Commercial Manager. The ambassador of Spain in Poland, Francisco Javier Sanabria, closed the event.

Discussion regarding diversity and business management was organised under CaixaBank “Diversity Talks” program, which encompasses different thematic chapters held both in Spain and abroad to regularly analyze matters relating to how diversity is applied in businesses.

CaixaBank is one of the leading companies in terms of diversity management in Spain Gender diversity is particularly important: 42% of managerial positions in CaixaBank’s international network are held by women and females in CaixaBank represent 53.2% of total staff.
